I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location was perfect, right in the center of the historic Zona Colonial. Everything was within walking distance, including major sights and shops. The hotel itself was small but stylish, with a unique character that showcased traditional architecture. The courtyard was lovely and all the rooms overlooked it. The staff was incredibly kind and responsive, and they even went above and beyond by returning some items I had left behind in my room. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the hotel facilities were top-notch. Breakfast was included and the food was great. I would definitely return to this hotel and highly recommend it.

We had a fantastic stay in the historic center of this city. The hotel is centrally located, right in the heart of Zona Colonial, making it close to all the main attractions. The cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable, and the hotel facilities, including the beautiful courtyard and small swimming pool, added to the overall ambiance. The staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast each day was fresh and tasty, catering to our dietary restrictions. the hotel's location close to everything historic, cleanliness, facilities, and breakfast made our stay memorable.
Not obvious to find.

Nothing at all..
Yes everything was misleading about the hotel. the price.. the airport shuttle the layout of room.. Over priced and seriously lacking in facilities.. Will never stay again at this hotel.. far finer to be had in Santo Domingo and for a better price.. will have to rethink my bookings in future

The hotel was very unique and had a lot of charm. The architecture was interesting with solid wood beams, bricks, high ceilings and 12 foot solid wood doors. The place was clean and had a relaxing environment. There is free Wi-Fi available.
The rooms are very small--there was only about 10-12 inches (personal estimate) between the end of the toilet seat and the facing wall in which to place your legs. The hotel entrance is kept locked. You have to ring the bell and wait for somebody to open the door for you to enter the hotel. I would recommend reconfirming your reservation with the hotel directly if you book through another company just to make sure your reservation gets integrated with their system.

From the moment I stepped inside the door at Casa Dona Elvira, I instantly felt at home. The building, with its historic charm, has been tastefully renovated and is located in the heart of the old town, zona colonial. The small front desk in the corner of the foyer and the inviting lounge area seamlessly connect to the pool yard.
While the overall experience at Casa Dona Elvira was positive, there were a few drawbacks. The rooms could use some renovation as they appeared outdated and ancient.

The location was great, with easy access to main tourist sights and enjoyable walks around the area. The staff was friendly and helpful, always eager to provide information and make our experience better. we appreciated the nice breakfast spread and the comfortable beds in our room.
We were disappointed by the state of the facilities. The pool was closed for maintenance, and some aspects of our room seemed worn-out.

The pool and the colonial style of the hotel, very charming!
The noise! We booked the appartment which is separated from the hotel and located in a street extremely noisy on saturday nights with music until 3 am. 100 dollars the room for 4 hours of sleep is no value for money!
